“My name is Kiran, I’m a zine-maker and I guess you could say a community organizer in Ottawa.

Most recently I organized Trans Day of Snack at the Trans Library, which was super fun.

And right now I’m at the Possible Worlds Object Project Art Book Fair selling zines and I love creative community especially because I think that it’s just such an amazing way to connect people together and you know I’ve just been wandering around and all of my friends are here and we’re all passing around the same 20 bucks buying each other’s zines and just I think it’s an amazing way to just connect with one another and make each other feel seen and heard.

This is Tales From Behind the Counter, this is our zine.

Zines are usually, they’re defined as like small self-published magazines, which means that you can put whatever you want in them and say whatever you want.

But yeah, this is one of mine, it’s got lots of pages.

Okay, if you want to find me you can find the zine at TBCZine on Instagram, we’ll pop up at art markets all over the place and otherwise, yeah, you can find me in and around probably doing something trans.”
