“Hi, my name is Josephine Diaz, I am one of the co-owners of the Red Apron.

Red Apron is a retail store, we do fresh prepared meals to go for delivery. I have been working here for over 12 years and have recently moved back to Centretown a couple years ago.

In here at the Red Apron, we strive on doing what we can to help this community, our community it’s our staff, it’s our customers, it’s the people around us, we’re always looking for ways that we can help and enrich, nourish, and change the lives of the people around us.

What I enjoy most about working here is being able to help the different organizations like the YMCA, Centretown Food Center, Parkdale Community Center, knowing that we’re helping our community.

We have built a really great foundation and we have a really great customer base around us that have been supporting us through everything, especially during the hard times of COVID, like we just felt that love and we feel the love every day and we just hope that it doesn’t go away, we love it here.”

more Stories of People

Centretown would like to acknowledge that Ottawa is built on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation.

The Anishinaabe Algonquin peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place. We also recognize the contributions of Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous peoples have made, both in shaping and strengthening this community in particular, and our province and country as a whole.
