“Hey, what up? I’m Zane. I live in Centretown. I’ve been here for two years. I’m a musician and a skateboarder.

I’ve been here for about two years, like I said, being part of the skate community, meeting so many people, being part of the music community, so many people to talk to and meet. And Ottawa has a very bad rap, I believe. And I’m one that’s an advocate to say that Ottawa is a pretty cool scene. You can find a community, you can find things that you like, and there will be a whole group of people there to meet you, be your friend.

My close friends that I live with here, we call ourselves the Centretown Rats, and we’re a bunch of delinquents. And the music that we make is basically about that. It’s party life, and it’s having fun and living your life. And living downtown really brings up that whole energy of, you know, chaos, fun, and excitement all the time with really new people, and I don’t know, Ottawa’s awesome.

So the places I love to go are hitting up the Birling Skate Shop. I used to love going to Top of the World. I love The Gilmour. I love Pour Boy. And yeah, those are the spots I’m always going to. Shout out to all those spots. Subito’s, you know we love you.

If you see me around, say hey, I’m in a band called Fith, Banezean, and Alley Beers.

Fith Music, Banezean, and Alley Beers on Facebook and Instagram.

Peace out.”

Centretown would like to acknowledge that Ottawa is built on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation.

The Anishinaabe Algonquin peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place. We also recognize the contributions of Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous peoples have made, both in shaping and strengthening this community in particular, and our province and country as a whole.
