“Hey, I’m Will Stockdale, I’m an entrepreneur, and my connection to Centertown is as the creator of OttawaGigs.ca.
So I moved to Ottawa six years ago, but unfortunately, the first chunk of that was very much taken up by the pandemic, and coming out of that, I didn’t really feel like I’d got under the skin of the city yet or really got to understand the community.
And something I always loved back in the UK was going to see live music.
So about kind of late 22, 23, I started looking and Googling like, oh, what’s on in Ottawa?
What can I go see?
And found that question pretty hard to answer.
And the idea for OttawaGigs.ca was born, and I created this website, which is now used by thousands of Ottawans to find live music shows, including last year, I think, over 600 shows in Centertown.
We listed on the website across a whole bunch of different genres.
Centertown is an amazing place to come see live music, not just for the diversity of venues that are here, but also the restaurants that you can go see kind of before and after, would highly encourage anyone to do that.
And anyone who is interested in figuring out what’s on, all you need to do is go to OttawaGigs.ca.
You can filter by Centertown or any other location in the city, find what’s on.
I should also mention this is a nonprofit project.
