This summer, Uncommon Spaces is coming back to Centretown as part of the City of Ottawa’s Street Seats initiative.
From June through October, our three street-level public spaces will pop up across the neighbourhood once again – creating more room for music, art, community gatherings, workshops, and unexpected moments in the middle of the city.

There is also a brand new Street Seats location launching in Chinatown at Somerset Street and Cambridge Street, spreading the community connection throughout the city.
The program is a collaboration between the City of Ottawa and the Centretown BIA, designed to bring more activity, creativity, and connection to Ottawa’s streets throughout the warmer months.

Whether you’re stopping by on your lunch break, meeting friends after work, or just wandering through the neighbourhood, there’ll always be something happening nearby.
Local businesses, artists, community groups, and organizers are encouraged to pitch programming ideas throughout the season. Whether it’s a workshop, performance, pop-up, or community gathering, we’d love to see the spaces used in creative and community-minded ways.
