“Hi, I’m Jesus Rivera or Visual Jesus, I’m a Venezuelan artist living in Canada.
I have been in Canada for 10 years now and I can tell for the 10 years I’ve been living in Centretown and I’m not planning to move away, I love the possibility of looking at people.
Like I said, I like watching the human experience, so I like walking, having interaction and living in the place where there is, I would say, most contrast in the city.
I think the city is growing so much in the art scene, you will be seeing more murals, more artists active, or people like Urban Art Collective, which is the gallery that represents me.
As an artist I try to look for any possible media to express the topic I’m researching, so I would say I’m more a storyteller, I’m heavily graphic, I do illustration and animation mainly, but I support myself with photography, like I was a photographer for 10 years before starting to illustrate, so part of my view of the city is very photographic as well.
If you want to see some of my public art, you can go to Arlington 5 or you’re going to see my mural called Soy Caribe, right beside the mural of the great Baptist, and in my website you can go to visualjesus.com or Instagram, visualjesus.com as well.
Thank you for everything, just leave comments, ask me any questions you want to know and if you want to collaborate on pieces and stuff, just let me know.
I love art and I’ll work with people, I love collaborating.”
