“I’m Erik and I’m a photographer as well as graphic designer and a community radio broadcasting host in Ottawa, Ontario.

I live in Centretown right now and I’ve lived in Centretown for about the past eight years or so and one of the things that I have really come to fall in love with about the community is the wide range of local businesses and people who exist in Centretown.

My experience working in hospitality really opened my eyes to the range of different things that Centertown offers and then coming at it from a creative and a curative perspective, being a photographer and also a host at CKCU, I’ve been able to meet and dive deeper into what Centretown means for so many different people and really for me the thing that I want to see happen in Centretown more is just that community, connectivity, people coming together celebrating one another, collaborating and for me CKCU has been a really really really significant part of that and I hope to see more of that in the future be it through me as a CKCU host going out and talking to different people in different businesses or just seeing people getting out and creating things that I can then spotlight on my show, be it musicians, photographers etc.

I love Centretown and it’s been an absolute joy to live in the community and to be a part of it in so many ways again as both a creator and a curator.”

Centretown would like to acknowledge that Ottawa is built on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation.

The Anishinaabe Algonquin peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place. We also recognize the contributions of Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous peoples have made, both in shaping and strengthening this community in particular, and our province and country as a whole.
