SUMMARY:Art Hang
DESCRIPTION:⭐️ ART HANG is an art making and crafting musical event: live instrumental music will set the mood for a creative flow state. \nHave you started a project you just can’t seem to put the time aside to finish? Is there a creative spark in your mind you need to release? Do you find it hard to make the time to be playful creatively and just MAKE something? \nART HANG might be the solution for you! This event is for creatives of all levels who might benefit from a communal space set with the intention to create. Come toil away at the knitting project you’ve been meaning to finish\, get that watercolour painting started that you can see so clearly in your mind\, or zone out while you doodle and colour to the chill vibes of live instrumental music. \n🎶 \nThis session of ART HANG will welcome the collaborative melding of Ottawa based musicians Sam Westcott and Chris Pond of @theinternetcelebs \nAfter a brief run in the WWE as World Tag-Team Champions\, Sam (@nvrtd_wrld) and Chris (@chrispondmusic) decided to give up putting people through tables to focus on a more sensitive art form: improvised instrumental music. Albeit a lonelier venture\, the by’s have kept at it over the years\, appearing initially as Ataraxia: a duo scoring independent films and appearing live in the bold jazz\, and new classical scene in St. John’s\, Newfoundland. Now\, they make up one half of the jazz/post-rock group Internet Celebrities; a dynamic quasi-collective currently at work on their biggest project yet. (Even bigger than defending the belts). These long-time collaborators play music that draws on all (or none) (or some) of these experiences; making sounds that become entangled with the moment & space they occupy. \nWith your creative tools in hand\, join us SEPT 9th at Art House Café from 7-9PM (doors @ 6:30) @arthouse.ottawa\, tickets in BIO. \nColouring pencils\, colouring pages and paper will be provided. \n(posters by @laurachanelart) \nSocial Media \norganized by: @laurachanelart \nTickets: CAD $15 tickets: Sairyo (Limited quantity!). If the event has not sold out online\, there will be tickets available at the counter. \nYour ticket guarantees you a seat in the house but not necessarily a seat with a direct line of sight to the performers. We recommend coming early to snag a spot or if you need accommodations\, like a guaranteed seat for accessibility reasons\, to please email us at ac.efacesuohtraehtobfsctd-463b3b@stneve at least 72 hours before the event. \nTicket refunds or date transfers are not available. \nIMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY INFO \nWe provide gender-neutral washrooms. We have one wheelchair accessible washroom. There is no wheelchair ramp. There is a set of 8 stairs to get into the building (7 steps\, small landing\, and then an 8th step). Once inside\, the whole cafe floor is flat\, with the exception of our small room to the side\, which is a small step down. \nWe are licensed to provide alcohol\, but serve a variety of non-alcoholic options. \nThis event takes place on the traditional unceded\, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People.
