A Tribute To Our Front-Line Workers

by Dom Laporte

This lovely mural, created by Dom Laporte, can be found on the corner of Bank and Nepean, in the heart of the city. Dom is a muralist and illustrator based in Ottawa who uses mixed-media and traditional painting techniques to create his work. Dedicated front-line and health-care professionals in Ottawa are recognised in this mural, which also pays homage to the LGBT community in Centretown through the use of a rainbow-inspired colour palette on the nurse.

Centretown would like to acknowledge that Ottawa is built on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation.

The Anishinaabe Algonquin peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place. We also recognize the contributions of Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous peoples have made, both in shaping and strengthening this community in particular, and our province and country as a whole.
