“There are a lot of good memories in this place, especially memories of my family, my father-in-law may he rest in peace, my mother-in-law may she rest in peace. They’re the ones who established the business, many years ago . My uncle was also involved in the business with his wife and his son. And it was fun working here, like every morning, I never had a problem coming to work. I’ve been here 32 years. We are closing within two weeks and the business is moving to Cooper Street between Kent and Bank, close by. So customers won’t have to drive their bikes too far. It all stays in the neighbourhood.”

Centretown would like to acknowledge that Ottawa is built on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation.

The Anishinaabe Algonquin peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place. We also recognize the contributions of Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous peoples have made, both in shaping and strengthening this community in particular, and our province and country as a whole.
