Description

Join the celebration of Ocean Day on June 8 at the Canadian Museum of Nature’s Water Gallery! Discover live sea creatures in the Pacific Discovery Tank and learn about efforts to conserve ocean and freshwater biodiversity. Meet researchers from various organizations who are working together to protect migratory fishes.

Don't miss Critical Distance, a special exhibition in the Bugs Alive Lab, available during Ocean Week Canada 2024 (June 2-9). Supported by the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition Blue Creators Grant, this exhibit lets you interact with a pod of Southern Resident orcas using augmented reality headsets, understand the impact of aquatic noise pollution, and meet conservationists from the British Columbia Gulf Islands. Celebrate Ocean Day with them and explore the wonders of marine conservation!

World Ocean Day 1

Location

240 McLeod St, Ottawa, ON K2P 2R1, Canada

Centretown would like to acknowledge that Ottawa is built on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation.

The Anishinaabe Algonquin peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place. We also recognize the contributions of Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous peoples have made, both in shaping and strengthening this community in particular, and our province and country as a whole.
