Stories of activism and community by Lesbians of Ottawa Now (LOON) and Gender Mosaic
Key players in Ottawa's lesbian + trans* community (Elaina Martin, Rupert Raj, Joanne Law)
Story of Ottawa's first female mayor and her female roommate
Where you'll go:
3km of walking along downtown Ottawa streets (Bank St, Somerset St West, Elgin St)
Murals, banners and lightboxes created by the Village Legacy Project
Locations of protest and connection (historical nightlife, commmunity resources)
What you'll need:
Weather appropriate walking clothing (tour will go rain or shine - cancelled if significant storm, heat or cold, poor air quality)
Water/snacks/things that will help support your energy for the two hours together
Willingness to share, learn and connect with the tour group
This tour will feature a guest talk by local drag artist and community member Nova Bliss.
