Bios

AnjChito is a genre-blending quartet from Ottawa serving up a vibrant mix of jazz, R&B, bossa nova, reggae, blues, and funk. Fronted by Angie Barkhouse (vocals/sax), with Chito Salazar (guitar), Ricky Lyan Kyang (bass), and Rafael de los Reyes (drums/percussion), the band delivers rich grooves, soulful melodies, and high-energy performances.  Their original music fuses smooth harmonies with irresistible rhythm, while their unique covers of Sade, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Alanis Morissette, Steely Dan, and more keep audiences grooving.  Their latest album Tones of Colour highlights the band’s evolving sound. “Smooth Samba” from their debut Eclectic was featured on the City of Ottawa’s City Sounds Playlist 2024. Location

555 Somerset St W, Ottawa, ON K1R 6A1, Canada

Centretown would like to acknowledge that Ottawa is built on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation.

The Anishinaabe Algonquin peoples have lived on this land since time immemorial. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to this place. We also recognize the contributions of Métis, Inuit, and other Indigenous peoples have made, both in shaping and strengthening this community in particular, and our province and country as a whole.
